Today on homify we will look at a house that stuns with its incredible architecture. This loft-house designed by architect Isabela Canaan at Arquitetos e Associados. The home in the Brazilian countryside is spectacular and evokes the natural landscape. The tranquil setting contrasts beautifully with the architectural delights of the home.

The geometric lines and graceful curves of the building are eye-catchingly modern in contrast to the pastoral surroundings. Earthy and muted neutral tones gloss the home with a modern sheen. The open and spacious home is incredible. Complete with an art-house staircase and classic edison bulb pendant lights the home is on-trend. Simplicity and style are at the forefront of this home which manages to be rustic and classy at the same time. Flooded with natural light from panoramic glazing, the home is inspiring. Let’s take a look at this enchanting home.

Façade like no other

The home is integrated into the rolling countryside. It is an irresistible and commanding structure. The home seems modest in size from this angle which brings playfulness into the design. The front entrance is almost hidden, tucked under the overhanging balcony. The traditional front door is casual and simple. The curved wall evokes romanticism and sensuality while the strict architectural lines of the main building show a modern face to the world. The white walls are fresh and help reflect the scenic landscape back onto itself. The gentle slope of the roof creates a cozy and homey feel. We can just get a hint of the beautiful glazing we will see inside.

Curvature and depth

Looking at the side of the building, we get a sense that the house is impressively large. We love how the many curved lines of the house intersect with geometric shapes. The building cuts out a unique shape in the negative space of the sky, creating a captivating silhouette. Every angle provides a unique look at the house. The exterior ambient lighting cleverly draws attention to the designs high points and flatters the house. Incredible floor to ceiling glazing is used to open the main living space right up to the outside. The asymmetric roof of the house creates wonderful shapes both inside and out.

Loft Spirit

A look at the interior space is incredible. We love the use of wood in the ceiling and on the accent wall. There is a stone dry stack column and plenty of glazing in this massive loft. The main floor is an open planned living, kitchen, and dining space. Some stylish stairs lead up to the traditional door that we saw from the exterior whose wood is reiterated throughout the house. Impressive pendant bulbs dangle from the high ceilings to illuminate the dining area and the angled roof provides visual interest. The rustic timber combined with a sleek off-white and neutral pallet make this space modern. We could never tire of looking at this luxurious space.

Magical loft bedroom

Another change in perspective shows us us the peaceful bedroom and upstairs deck. White privacy curtains hang in front of the bed. How wonderful it must be to wake up to that view! The deck looks like a great place to take in the scenery and relax in the sun. The vaulted ceiling is even more bewitching at this angle with its exposed beams and striated wood showing. The loft has a polished industrial look with the bed curtain rods and black pendant light cords in full view. Truly an enchanting space.

Rustic and modern

Down on the main floor we take a view from the living room looking outwards onto the land. The seating area here can open up through the sliding glass door and open onto the deck. The mat on the floor brings texture into the space and echoes the grass outside. Neutral tones rule in this home. With the height of two stories overhead, the room is voluptuous with space. The house melds with the surrounding countryside thanks to the expansive glazing that also floods the room with warm light. The soothing grass recalls rustic country living but the atmosphere inside is one of sleek modernity. Simple furnishings serve the space without overwhelming and are a subtle addition to the home's style.

Cheerful alcove

This alcove area is like a glassed-in terrace. From here you can take in a panoramic view of the countryside. This is a lovely space in the home to relax. Natural light overwhelms the space and illuminates the dry stack column chimney inside. There is a fireplace too, incase it gets chilly in the winter and you need to cozy up. This is one of our favourite places in the home because it shows off some of the best architectural features of the house. The grid above the seating area reminds us of an outdoor veranda, giving the space a feeling of being in a garden. Homey and comfortable, we would love to enjoy a coffee in this space!

An opulent open plan floor

The view from the kitchen shows us the incredible floating staircase that leads to the upstairs loft. A piece of art in its own right, this staircase is a beautiful and subtle addition to the room. There are multifarious textures at play with the wood, the stone dry stack, and the sleek furniture. Green pops of colour come the floral arrangements and plants in the room. The kitchen has a stunning bespoke wood island and breakfast bar perfect for weekend brunches. We love the lights along the wooden wall that illuminate the space in a unique way. This is a sophisticated modern living space that fits together perfectly.

Final Look

A final look at this house before we complete our tour shows the rear of the house and the outdoor entertaining space. We love how the pillars create great depth for the home. The house gleams white like the Sydney Opera House. The columns and curves of the house remind us of the  Roman Colosseum lit up at night. Iconic in appearance, the home is a grand feature on this rural landscape.
